The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, April 22, 2013, of Alvina "Viney" Champion, R.N., of Summerside, aged 72 years. Born in Timmons, Ont., she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Kate (Ford) Mobbs. Survived by her son Peter (Lorna) Champion, Summerside; daughter Kathy (Neil) MacLean, Summerside; grandchildren Matthew Champion; Katie and Jaime MacLean; sister Helen (Lloyd) Arsenault; sister-in-law Libba Mobbs; and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Ralph Champion; granddaughter Hannah Champion; brothers Douglas Mobbs and Thomas Gordon in infancy; and by her nephew Jeff Mobbs. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to the Summerside Presbyterian Church for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Malpeque. Visiting hours Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Hospice Palliative Care Association or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
