It is with great sadness that the family of the late Norbert Sherlock Lavers of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Laverne; daughters Paulette (Chris), and Sherri-Lee (Trent), Port Saunders; son Michael (Karla), Corner Brook; grandsons Brock and Adam; sisters Zeta (Brian), Cynthia (Shawn), Odella, Leona, Rachel (Spencer) and Doreen (Gordon); brothers Pius (Nora), Ed (Phyllis), Mack (Mildred), Adelor (Nita), Herb and Alfred (Sue); sisters-in-law Hilda and Meta; brother-in-law Lorraine (Kay); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Macvoy and Cora Jane Lavers, sisters Debbie, Selma and Helen, and mother-in-law Clara Lavers. Visitation took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
