Ronald Allen

ALLEN, RONALD ERNEST - Ronald Ernest Allen passed away at Bobby’s Hospice on April 25, 2013. Born at Hanford Brook, N. B. on July 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry and Maude (King) Allen. Ron is survived by his wife Vera; children, Beverley (Bob) Sheppard, Sharon (John) Goobie, Hank (Brenda) Allen, Crena (Peter) Peters and Trevor (Stacey) Allen; grandchildren, Don (Cheryl) Burnett, Lisa (Dean) Saulnier, Natasha (Kevin) Breau, Jonathan (Olivia) Burnett, Joshua (Holly) Peters, Michael Peters, Nathan (Anita) Allen, Anna (Jeff) Allen, Matthew (Crystal) Allen, Michael Allen, Melanie Allen and several great grandchildren, sisters Elfreda Weston, Bernice Brown and Lois Barton, and his former wife, Anne Rodgers. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant son, Michael, a brother, Henry, and sisters Elizabeth Thomas and Crena Knowlton. He worked for CNR in Moncton and Saint John as an electrician for 35 years retiring in 1987. He was a loving family man who always had time for his friends of all ages. His heart never left St. Martins and he enjoyed many hours at the creek with the fishermen exchanging stories and keeping abreast of the goings on in the lives of friends on the Bay of Fundy. He was a loyal friend, trusted confidante, defender of the underdog and generous with his time and talents. Always ready to lend a hand he fixed all things mechanical, electrical and tinkered around his garage on Mosher Hill enjoying friends dropping by to share a story and usually a prank. Ron always had room at his table for one more. He took an active part in the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending their hockey games, school recitals, etc., and was happy when he held a baby in his arms. His interests included hunting at the camp at Coles Island, attending horse pulls, and four-wheeling.
His request for no visitation or service will be honoured. A private family burial will take place at Mosher Hill Cemetery after cremation at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes can be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
