McILLWRAITH, VALERIE MARILYN - With heavy hearts, the family of Valerie McIllwraith announces her passing on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Cyr) Jack. Val was a fun loving lady with a sense for adventure. She really enjoyed the rides on the Harley in her earlier days. Her family will fondly remember her passion for creating custom cakes for all occasions and her love of gardening. Val's grandchildren were so precious to her; her life revolved around them and she will always be known as the lady who would do anything for anyone. She is survived by her daughters, Serena McIllwraith and Melanie Cleary (Robert); brothers, David Cyr (Alberta), Eddie Jack (Julie), Mark Jack (Heather) and Steven Jack (Julie); sisters, Diane Hachey (Bob), Dale Stewart (Russell) and Patricia Steeves; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Reilly, Nathan, Chloe and one more precious blessing on the way; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Val was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Jack; and her sister, Jean Runzer.
Arrangements under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506) 646-2424. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Committal in St. Joseph's Cemetery, immediately followed by a reception at the Funeral Home.
