PENNEY, CLARA - 1924-2013 - Clara Penney, 88, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Kentville, NS, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Jesse (née: Mapplebeck) Mahar. Mrs. Penney is survived by her second husband, John "Jack" of the Veteran's Health Center, Moncton; one daughter, Margaret (Don) Melanson of Dieppe, with whom she resided for the past four years; one step-daughter, Allison (Ray) Jones of Burlington, ON; six sons: Vernon (Lynn) Richardson of Welland, ON, Tom (Susan) Richardson and David (Darlene) Richardson, both of Riverview, Rick (Krista) Richardson of Fort Erie, ON, Shawn (Dorine) Richardson of Memramcook and Andy (Andrea) Richardson of Burlington, ON; one step-son, Scott (Krista) Penney of Burlington, ON; three sisters: Anna (Vernon) Huntley of Cambridge, NS, Harriet (Edward) Oulton of Sussex and Mary Kalkman of Coldbrook, NS; two brothers: Harold (Dorothy) Mahar of Kentville, NS and Tom (Hildegard) Mahar of Dartmouth, NS; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, George Richardson in 1993; two daughters: Elizabeth and Katie; two sisters: Helen and Beatrice; and also by one brother, Shirley.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901) on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of service, which will be celebrated from the Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment in Upper Dorchester, NB. www.chartersville.com
