Edward Francis Pierro, 42, of Wagmatcook, N.S., passed away April 24, 2013, at the QE II Hospital Halifax.
Born in Baddeck, he was the son of the late Roderick and Mary (Isadore) Pierro.
He was known for his laughter, good company, crazy stories and his outgoing attitude towards outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Edward worked in Wagmatcook with habitat crew by the river; he also worked with the WEAP crew landscaping and maintaining Wagmatcook’s beauty. In his younger years he worked seasonally in Maine blueberry picking with family and friends. He moved to Waycobah for a short time before moving to Halifax. In Halifax he worked odd jobs and volunteered his time at the Salvation Army.
He is survived by brothers, Kenny, Wagmatcook, Patrick and Clifford, both of Halifax; sisters, Wanda, Waycobah, Karen, Wagmatcook, Lora, Orillia, Ont., Ida, Sydney; godfather, Francis Alexander Pierro; godchildren, Stephen Pierro, Jessica Pierro and Matrix Basque.
Beside his parents, Edward was predeceased by his brother, Melvin, sisters, Alice Pierro and Mary Theresa Pierro, godmother, Sylvia Googoo.
Visitation for Edward Pierro will held at Blessed (Saint) Kateri Tekakwitha, Queen of the World Church, Wagmatcook, Monday, April 29 starting at 3 p.m. The funeral serves will also be held at Blessed (Saint) Kateri Tekakwitha, Queen of the World Church, Wednesday, May 1 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Calastus Abi officiating. Burial will follow at Queen of The World Cemetery.
