John H. MacNutt – 92, Truro, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, April 4, 2013, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born November 18, 1920, in Trenton, Pictou County, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (MacLeod) MacNutt. In 1946, John was married in Halifax to his beloved wife, Barbara (Allen), and they moved to Truro in 1950 where they owned and operated MacNutt’s Superette until 1973 at which time he joined Nova Scotia Trust Co. as a real estate salesman. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara; sister, Frances MacDonald. John is survived by his children, Allen (Linda), Truro; John (Debbie), Edmonton, Alberta; Beverley (Keith) Snowdon, Bible Hill; Vicki (Bruce) Pate, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He was a wonderful family man and especially loved his grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where John’s family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013, and funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013.
