Isabel MacKenzie Copeland
New Glasgow - Isabel MacKenzie Copeland, passed away peacefully at Valley View Villa on April 25, 2013 at age 95. Born in New Glasgow in 1917, Isabel was a daughter of Scott and Myrtle (MacKenzie) Copeland. Before she retired, Isabel worked for Woolworth's in New Glasgow for many years.
She was a member of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church “The Kirk”, and the church guild. Isabel was an avid “Leafs” fan and never missed a Saturday Hockey Night in Canada.
She is survived by her nephew, Alexander “Sandy” (Donna Lalonde), Dartmouth; her niece, Shelley Hudson (Rob), Ottawa, and great-nephew Alexander Dewar. She was predeceased by her brother Norman, and recently, her sister Louise Dewar.
The family wish to acknowledge the wonderful care that Isabel received at Valley View Villa and also extend a special thanks to Marie Langille who was a cherished friend and a tremendous support.
A celebration of Isabel's life will take place this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Condolences may be sent by visiting: www.rhporter.ca
