Tommie and Margie Hartigan
CARD OF THANKS
Tommie and Margie Hartigan
We, the family of the late Tommie and Margie Hartigan, who died one month apart on February 10 (Tommie) and March 10 (Margie) 2013, wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone for the love, kindness and support we received following the loss of our parents. We would like to say thank you for the beautiful flowers, sympathy and mass cards, donations, emails, on-line condolences, abundance of food and refreshments and visits to our homes. We wish to thank all those who supported us through the week on An Cala Palliative Care Unit. We would like to thank all those who attended and helped us prepare for the wakes and funeral services, many of whom travelled from afar, as it meant so much to us to remember and cherish the lives of Mom and Dad. We have been blessed by so many kind and caring people. Thank you to the VON staff for their home visits which were one of the highlights of Mom's evenings, and special mention of EHS staff for their support to Dad. A huge thank you to Dr. Stephen MacDougall for more than 25 years of wonderful medical care, and to Dr. Susan MacLeod for her welcomed, recent home visits. A sincere thank you to the staff of An Cala Unit for your kindness and compassion, in particular Dr. Ann Frances D'Intino for her excellent care and constant support. Special thank you to all of Mom and Dad's friends at Nova Heights, where they were so content these past number of years. We wish to mention Mom and Dad's sons and daughters in-laws, Tony, Brenda, Jim (D) and Lisa, who treated them so well over the years. Another big thank you to Mom and Dad’s many friends who made their lives so enjoyable both in Sydney and Hay Cove. We would like to thank all who contributed to the funeral services for Mom and Dad, officiated by Father Paul Murphy, at Holy Redeemer Church, where they were married 66 years ago. The Pallbearers were Margie's brother, Johnny Gillis, grandchildren, Scott Orychock, Lisa Whytewood, Ryan Hartigan-Hanratty, Connor Hartigan, Liam Hartigan and Tommie's niece, Evelyn Sutherland. Thank you to Fabian Sutherland and Colleen Tobin for delivering such heartfelt Eulogies. The readers were Stephen Hartigan, Kenny Johnston, Scott Orychock, Denyse Johnston, and Jennifer Chiasson-Orychock. The Holy Redeemer Choir, directed by Peggy McLaine, and soloist, Donnie Campbell provided the comforting hymns. The wonderful care and professionalism of Bill Laurie and staff of the Pier Community Funeral Home was greatly appreciated, as it made a very difficult time easier for the family. With deepest gratitude to all of you who helped us celebrate Mom and Dad's lives (through laughter and tears). We are now content to know that they are" Walking hand in hand forever".
May their cherished memories live on in all of us,
The families of Dale, Donnie(D), Kathy and Robbie.
