HARVEY-MacAFEE, AGATHA B. - Agatha B. Harvey-MacAfee, 95, of Moncton and formerly a resident of Saint John, NB, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, April 29, 2013. Born in Saint John, NB, June 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie Watters. She will be remembered for her love of life, her spirit of adventure, her generosity, her profound faith, her wisdom and her keen sense of humour. Agatha spent over 70 years of her life singing in church and community choirs; she was an active member of ACW and an avid bridge player. She was predeceased by husbands, Arthur W. T. Harvey and Burleigh MacAfee and by a son, Donald Harvey (Judi Harvey-Isaac). She is survived by a son, Wayne Harvey (Claire Violette-Harvey) of Halifax, NS; daughter, Marthanne Harvey-Veno (Barry Veno) of Moncton; grandchildren, Melanie Veno (Paul Boisvert) of Moncton, Thomas Harvey of Barbados, Emilie Harvey of London, England, Shannon Harvey of Saint John, Christopher Harvey of Fredericton and several nephews. Her love and dedication to her family extended beyond the traditional definition; she opened her heart and home to many (Tanya Rivera, Scott Green). Her memory will also live on in her four great granddaughters, Alex Harvey and Ella, Violet and Mathilda Jane Boisvert-Veno. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. G. Donald, Father Rod Black and to Sue Dixson and the staff of Serenacare for providing compassionate care above and beyond the call of duty.
A private service and interment will be held at Hardings Point Loyalist Cemetery at a later date. Ferguson Knowles Funereal Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
