GEORGE LEEMING
George Leeming peacefully passed away in his 87th year at his home in Port Colborne, Ontario.
After a full life, he leaves his wife Dolores, sister Mary Lou Weidman and children Linda Gaffar (Abbey), William (Deborah), Michael (Diane), Robert (Cathy), Margaret Watson (Colin), Mary Robbins (Gary), Laura Spies (Gary), son-in-law Michael Currie as well as four step children Naomi (Howard), Greg (Kelly), Bradley (Nadine), Sandy (Scott) and twenty five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by wives Nora (nee Wrobel) and Marg (nee Edwards) and his daughter Catherine.
A spiritual man who loved the great outdoors especially the sky blue waters of Ontario to the mountains of BC. George spent his life in both places as well as his winter home in Arizona. He was a U.S. Marine in the Pacific in WWII. Some important moments in his life included youth work with the YMCA and Salvation Army and a leader in Adventurers. A gentle man, thoughtful and inspired to the end, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His thoughts live on in those he filled with his spirit and enthusiasm for life.
A service in his memory will take place at Central United Church, 30 Delhi St., Port Colborne on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with 1 hour visitation prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations if desired can be made to the Christian Science Trust, Delta, B.C.
