Paula Marks

Marks, Paula S. – 80, of Halifax, and formerly of Parrsboro passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Myrtle Cleveland. Paula worked as a bookkeeper for many years in both Halifax and Toronto prior to her retirement. She was an avid bowler for many years with numerous teams in both Halifax and Toronto. She loved gardening in the summer and baking in her spare time. Friends and family were a big part of her life, which was often displayed through her good sense of humor. Paula loved a good game of cards with friends and will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Marks (Brent MacLean), Kinkora, P.E.I.; a son, Gary (Yvette), Dartmouth; two grandsons, Scott Marks (Zoe Lavallée), Montreal, Que.; James Marks, Dartmouth; a sister, Betty Lockhart (Robert), Fredericton, N.B.; a brother, Jim Gratto (Shirley), Ottawa, Ont.; sister-in-law, Hilda Cleveland, Blandford. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Cleveland. Visitation Monday, May 6, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday [May 7, 2013], Rev. Tory Byrne officiating.
