Anne Lee
Passed away at Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, while surrounded by her family, Anne Lee, of Riverhead, St. Mary’s Bay, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her devoted husband Alban (2006), her infant daughter Glenda (1960), her son Michael (1986) and her daughter Darlene (2005), parents Edward and Margaret Meaney; brothers: Gordon, Kenneth, Thomas, Michael and sister Mary. Mom is happily remembered by her children: Marilyn (Ron Howell), Boyd (Rosarie), Keith (Donna), Peggy (Pat Kelly), Gerard, Denis (Wanda) and Dianne, son-in-law Jeff Howard; 16 grandchildren: Scott, Chris, Mark, Michael, Janet, Jillian, Julia, Stephen, Neil, Leanne, Darrin, Bailey, Sydney, Daniel, David and Liam; five great-grandchildren: Clark, Aaron, Aubrey, Reece and Eoghan; two brothers: Jerome (Rosemarie) and Eugene (Betty); two sisters: Gertrude Power and Madeline Meaney; sisters-in-law: Margaret Meaney, Maureen Meaney and Madonna Lee and many other relatives and friends. We would like to express our sincere thank you to the staff of Meadow Creek Manor, where Mom was a resident for six years and to Hoyles-Escasoni where she passed away. Mom was a tenacious spirit who lived a long life filled with hard work, joy and dedication to her family. She is now united in heaven with her three children, whom she missed so much and is once again smiling and dancing her nights away with our dear dad. Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Saturday, May 11, from 7 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 12, 2 - 4 p.m., 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Riverhead, S.M.B. Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery, Riverhead. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
