GLENDENNING, JANE VERNE - Janet Verne Glendenning, wife of 67 years of Kenneth E. Glendenning of Napan, NB, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Thursday, May 16, 2013. Born in Napan Bay on July 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Wood) Taylor. She was a teacher, homemaker, retired secretary from the Senior Citizens Home in Miramichi and past member of the Literacy Program. She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and past president and lifetime member of Atlantic Missionary Society (John Roberts Chapter). She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; son, Keith (Ruth: daughter of Doreen Nicol (Bill), both of Napan); three granddaughters, Jennifer Maher (Harry), Lesley Glendenning (Alan) and Glenda Nicol (Matt); step-grandson, Steven Nicol (Michelle); three great-grandsons; Aaron, Ethan and Andrew Maher; one brother, William Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Derek Glendenning; two sisters, Ina Loggie and Marge Lutes; and three brothers, Ira, Orville and Roland.
Visitation will be at Maher's Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Black River Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
