PATTERSON, JOHN - The passing of John Howard Patterson, spouse of Betty DeGrace, occurred Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 30, 1938 in Edmundston, NB, he was the son of the late Andrew and Olive (Seymour) Patterson. John worked at NB Power for 30 years where he retired at the age of 55. He was a member of the Fredericton Royal Canadian Legion and the NB Power 25 Year Club. John was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing cards. In addition to his spouse of 16 years, John is survived by his son, Richard Patterson and daughter, Nancy Patterson, both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Charles and Andrew; sisters, Barbara, Catherine, Gwenolyn and Mary; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; chosen grandson, Branden DeGrace; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, David Patterson.
At John's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Extra Mural Program. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
