SMITH, Dorisann - 68, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born July 18, 1944, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Fulton) Smith. Dorisann was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working with the Department of Health for 27 years in Colchester County. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and checking out the Saturday Farmer’s Market. Her coffee pot was always on for those who dropped by to visit. Dorisann is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Bruce) MacLeod, West St. Andrews; Denice (Ralph) Fillmore, Debert; Diana (Andrew) Searle, Truro; grandchildren, Cameron and Riley Fillmore, Olivia Searle, Ben MacLeod; brothers, Freddie, Virginia; Alan, California; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a sister in infancy. She will be deeply missed by her family, who wishes to especially thank the doctors and nurses of Truro Palliative Care Team who gave such wonderful care to Mom over the past few months. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Dorisann’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2013, and funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013, Reverend Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Watson Cemetery, East Prince Street, Truro. Family flowers only, please.
