CLOSE, EDWARD STEWART - Edward S. Close of Harvey, NB passed away May 21, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Eddy was born in Harvey, NB in 1951, a son of the late Percy and Viola (Webber) Close. He is survived by his wife, Shirley E. (Scott) Close; his children, Shelley Weeks (Clifford), Ronnie Scott (Nicole), Eddy Scott (Shawna), Tammy Holland (Harvey), Roy Scott (Buffy) and Scotty Cleghorn; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his sisters, Nancy Nason, Kathleen (Mae) Close (Ken), Carol Lockhart (Michelle), Marguerite Close (Rick) and Maxine Close (Wayne), his brothers, Leroy (Krista), Donnie (Claudette), Murray, Garnet and Brian Close; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was very proud to be part of their family and was loved by his mother-in-law, Stella Scott who always told Eddy to keep praying.
Visitation will be held at the Harvey United Pentecostal Church, 2031 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Todd McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at the Harvey Settlement Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sabrina Scott, a grandson Jacob MacIntosh and a great grandson Jonah Clark.
