The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, of Herbert Joseph Gaudet of Summerside and formerly of St. Nicholas, P.E.I., aged 79 years. Herbert was born on March 13, 1929, in St. Nicholas, P.E.I., to his late parents, Leo and Madeline (nee Gallant) Gaudet. Beloved husband of Carolyn (nee Cormier) Gaudet and loving father of Wayne (Noella) of Kensington, Donna (Ed) MacDonald of Greenwood, N.S., Phyllis Arsenault (John Doucette) of Calgary, Alta., Wendy (Wayne) McWhinney of Greenwood, N.S., Mitchell (Crystal) of Summerside and Tracy Cormier (John Harris) of Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Terra, Scott, Rylan, Thomas, Patrick, Keaten and Cassidi. Survived by his brothers and sister: Hilda (Tanton) Landry of Summerside, Elric of Summerside, Marie (Gus) Gaudet of St. Nicholas and Cedric of St. Nicholas. Besides his parents, Herbert was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence and Leonard, and his sister, Frances. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, July 24, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche.
