It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear, husband, dad, grandfather and brother on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence in Donkin.
Born in 1943 in Port Morien, Wayne was the son of the late Fred and Iris (Nearing) Clements. He was employed in the construction business throughout his life and was an iron worker by trade. Wayne loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He enjoyed walking and could often be seen on the sandbar in Port Morien or Schooner Pond. Wayne was a strong and gentle man who loved his family dearly.
Wayne is survived by his wife and soul mate, Judy (Murrant); daughter, Cindy (Vernon) MacKillop, Coxheath; sons, Glenn (Leona), Lawrencetown, N.S., Craig (Sheri), Donkin Highway; cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Lawrencetown, Emma, Coxheath, Logan and Joey in Donkin.
Wayne is also survived by brothers, Buddie (Murdie), Eldon (Barbara), Walter (Joan); sisters, Frances Loiseau, Betty Grant, Yvonne (Louie), Elaine (Gaffy), Karen (Lloyd), Julie (Albert), Linda (Gord), Kay (Mike) and brothers-in-law, Roy (Roberta) and Darryl (Marybelle).
Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Joan; a brother, Freddie and his father and mother-in-law, Wesley and Ruth Murrant.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Conrad Edwards is Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Port Morien. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
All are invited to join the family for a reception at the Port Morien Community Legion.
