McINTYRE, Jonathan Brenton – 26, Truro, passed away suddenly, as a result of complications from an accident, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born November 5, 1986, in Truro, he was a son of Charles McIntyre, Truro, and Linda (Terry) McGill, Truro. In earlier years, Jonathan attended First United Church and was a member of Beavers and Cubs and enjoyed camping at Camp MacLennan. He graduated from CEC in 2005 and during his time there, he played baseball, football, volleyball and was a basketball referee. He also played Rep Volleyball, proudly wearing Jersey # 5 and played Volleyball Libero position. He worked at Convergys and then with Fluor Canada as a construction technician. Jonathan was a friend to all and touched the lives of everyone he met. Along with his parents, Jonathan is survived by his sister, Amy McIntyre, Halifax; nieces, Lennon, Brooklyn; maternal grandmother, Marion Little, Truro; aunts and uncles, Rhonda (Stephen) Grandy, Hammonds Plains; Kim (Ula) Little, Belmont; Ross (Heidi) Little, South Portland, Maine; John (Karen) McIntyre, Bear Island, New Brunswick; Sissy (Jamie) Paris, Oxford; Frank (Laura) Stewart, Wentworth; cousins, Colleen (Jeff) Woloeswich, Matthew (Jennifer) Little, Phoebe Little, Chad McCallum, Devin (Marie) McCallum; “Grandma McGill”, Geraldine McGill, Mount Pleasant, Cumberland County; “Nana Bella”, Bella Milner, Truro; a wide circle of friends from near and far. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Elwyn Little; paternal grandparents, Bill and Helen McIntyre; paternal great grandmother, Thelma Neiley. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who has supported us during this time, especially Jonathan’s special friends, Andrew and Holly, who never left his side, his co-workers from out West, our family and friends, and the staff at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, especially Dr. Pickett and nurses, Allison, Janet and Robbie for your love, hugs and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Jonathan’s family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013, in First United Church, 711 Prince Street, Truro, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow in Memorial Hall. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only.
