Surrounded by loved ones, Bev passed away peacefully after a brief illness with cancer, in the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on May 31, 2013.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Annie (Steele) Wade and her former husband, Jim Sollazzo.
Generous and giving, Bev adored being a grandmother, an animal lover and indulging her sweet tooth. She always loved a good joke and old music.
She is survived by her brothers, Mike (Bev) and Hughie (Linda) Wade; her daughter, Terri (Rob Achmann); her son, Jamie (Michelle) Sollazzo and her five grandchildren, Olivia, David and Julian Achmann, Cameron and Sophia Sollazzo. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.

As per Bev’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the Centennial Room.
