Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Prince County Hospital on Friday, May 31, 2013, of Blanche M. Cairns (nee Dawson) of North Tryon, age 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Hillus Cairns. Loving mother of Elaine (Noel) Potts, Argyle Shore; Don, North Tryon; Grace (Joe) Tennina, Calgary; Wayne (Lori), Saskatoon; and Janet (Leonard) Rogers, Cornwall. Dear grandmother of Andrew (Jill) Potts, Argyle Shore; Amanda Potts, Argyle Shore: Shawn Cairns, Alta.; Ryan Cairns, Halifax; Jennifer Chocholacek, Calgary; Felicia Schnurr, Saskatoon; Amber (Wesley) Jackson, Sylvania, Sask.; Matthew and Lacey Rogers, Cornwall; and great-grandmother to Jessica Cairns, Austin, Nolan and Addison Potts, Presley and Brooklyn Schnurr and Chance Jackson. Also survived by her sisters Jennie Matthews, Summerside; Georgina (James) Paynter, London, Ont.; Margaret Newsome, North Tryon; Bertie (Sterling) Thompson, Belmont; Mary (Doug) Howatt, Westmoreland; Helen (Delbert) Smith, Trenton, Ont.; sister-in-law Erma Dawson and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Murdock and Grace (nee Francis) Dawson, granddaughter Grace Potts, sisters Mildred Harvey and Louise Thomson, brothers James, Bennett and Harvey Dawson, and brothers-in-law Ralph Harvey, Alvin Matthews, Charles Thomson, Richard Newsome, Ira Cairns, Eldon Francis and sister-in-law Hazel Francis. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with visiting hours Tuesday 2 and 4 and 7 and 9 p.m. Funeral service from the North Tryon Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Interment in church cemetery.
