Donald "Tank" Davidson

DAVIDSON, DONALD "TANK" - Donald "Tank" William Davidson of Hoyt, NB, passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on June 2, 2013. Donald was born in Kitchener Ontario on August 17, 1940 to the late William and Eleanor (Groh) Davidson. Tank, as he was known to his family and friends, loved sports, in his younger years he played softball, hockey, curled and even golfed a little. But he really loved being an umpire for softball and did that for many years. Tank served his country for 35 years in the Canadian Armed Forces in the Artillery and retired with the rank of Corporal. He worked for several years as a commissionaire after his retirement from the service. Tank is survived by his daughter Justine (Peter) Pospolita of St. George, his son Kirk (Karen) Davidson of Hoyt, and a sister Carol Davidson, a brother Harry (Betty) Davidson and his step-mother Jessie Schnell all of Ontario. Tank leaves behind seven grandchildren; David, Anthony, Erich, Hailey, Brian, Courtney and Brandon as well as three great grandchildren, his good buddy David Cooper as well many nieces, nephews and friends will be mourning his passing. He is predeceased by his wife Christel (Arends), a sister Joan Davidson and a nephew Bradley Davidson.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home to pay respects to family on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9, with the Legion tribute starting at 7pm. The funeral service will be from Sunbury Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11am with Rev. Steven Aubin officiating. In lieu of flowers you may express your sympathy by making a donation to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
