SONIER, RITA - Rita Sonier, 89, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on June 25, 1923 in Lewisville, she was the daughter of the late Zoël and Mélina (DesRoches) LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, she was a member and restaurant manager at Lakeside Golf & Country Club. She is survived by two sons, David Sonier (Natalie) and Richard “Rickey” Saulnier, both of Moncton; one sister, Alice Daigle of Moncton; one brother, Emery LeBlanc of Moncton; seven grandchildren: Mia, Richard, David “Jr”, Mickey, Natasha, Simon and Chloë; four great-grandchildren: Allen, Dylan, Zachary and Samara; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alderice (2003); her daughter, Joanne (2011); one sister, Béatrice and one brother, George.
By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Louis-de-France R.C. Church, 5 Pleasant Street, Moncton (Lewisville) on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Rita, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
