It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife and sister, Beatrice Confiant on Thursday, June 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and close friends at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Alex and Elizabeth (Winstanley) McLean.
In her earlier years, Beatrice was employed in the fisheries industry with P.J. Cadegan and H.P. Hopkins. She was always active and loved playing bingo and shooting darts. But mostly she will be remembered as a loving family lady.
Beatrice is survived by her loving husband, Peter Confiant, Jennifer Simms, whom they raised and considered a daughter; sisters, Sis, Jean, Tootsie (Dave); brothers, Albert (Lois), Melvin (Nancy), Robert (Joannie) and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Joe and Willie.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Leo Boone is Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church followed by a reception in the foyer.
Cremation to follow with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
A special thank you to Dr. Dias, Dr. Rebello, Dr. McNeil along with the nursing staff at the I.C.U., Glace Bay Hospital for there excellent care.
