GIBBS, MARIE - Marie Frances Gibbs passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Bobby's Hospice on June 7, 2013. She was born in Big Cove, Queens County, New Brunswick on July 29, 1931. Marie worked as a waitress all her life and worked for many years at the Riviera Restaurant. Marie was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Cormier; sister, Arlene; and brothers, Don, Winston, Colter, and Garnett. She is survived by her sons, Ray W. (Janice) of Moncton and Wayne E. (Martha) of Saint John; daughter, Brenda L. Taylor (Jim) of Saint John; and her brothers, Robert Todd (Linda) of Sudbury, Tom Todd (Helga) of Sudbury, and Ken Todd (Val) of Saint John. Marie had ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Marie's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John. A memorial service will take place at Castle "Fallsview" Chapel on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a reception held at the "Fallsview" Reception Center immediately following the interment. Donations may be made to Bobby's Hospice or the donor's charity of choice.
