WILLIAMS, DONALD MAYES – The passing of Donald Williams, husband of Shirley (Muir) Williams occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. He was born on December 27, 1931 in Saint John to the late Murray and Ruby (Splane) Williams. Donald worked as a Cook for the Canadian Coast Guard, and Dairy Queen. He enjoyed camping at Pleasant Lake Campground in Maine, making ceramics, watching NASCAR and anything sweet. Donald loved his grandchildren dearly, and fondly teased them. He is survived by his loving wife of over 56 years, Shirley; their children: Tammy Williams (Brian), Christa Soucy (Chad), Marilyn Bastarache (Stacey) and Fred Williams; grandchildren: Corey Bastarache, and Tylar, Travas and Zack Soucy; siblings: Beverly Lyons (Larry), Gail Melanson (Michael), Joan Nason, Judy Logan (Jamie) and Nancy and Louise Williams and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his parents, brother, Fred and nephews: John and Robert Lyons.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
