It is with great sadness the family of the late Matthew Benoit “Papa” announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the age of 76 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Edna and five sons: Robert (Barb) of Ontario, Richard (Rita) of Piccadilly, Larris (Denise) of Ontario, Roddy (Marilyn) of Stephenville, Doug (Kim) of Port au Port; three daughters: Joanne (Danny) Blanchard of Cold Brook, Dale (Gervase) White of Cold Brook, Bonnie Lou (Randy) Flynn of West Bay; one brother, Francis Benoit of Piccadilly; four sisters: Mary Benoit of Prince Edward Island, Pauline Hinks of Prince Edward Island, Yvonne (Harry) Hodder of Stephenville, Theresa Hynes of Port au Port; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Amelia and his brothers Joe, Peter, Anthony, Harry. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday, June 27th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, June 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 29th at 12:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with Interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
