Passed peacefully away, after a brief illness, at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital , Stephenville, on June 29th, 2013, Rita Mary Finlay (Kennedy) of St. Shotts, in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, parents William and Josephine, brothers James(Ann), Edward (Elizabeth) and Albert, and her sister Regina; Leaving to mourn with loving memories, her children: Madelyn St. Croix (Sebastian), Thomas, and Francis; her treasured grandchildren: Rita-Jane, John, Claire and Pierre. Also leaving to mourn her especially loved niece, Donna Kennedy Weilacher, sisters: Marge Harper (Ralph), Mary Keiley, Anne; her brother Bill (Donna); sisters-in-law Kathleen Kennedy, Anne Daley, Elizabeth Finlay, Regina Myrick, Theresa Myrick, Barbara Myrick, Cee Finlay and Marie Finlay; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were very important to her. The family wish to extend a special thank you to all who helped so much with her care, the staff of Acadian Village and Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at Stephenville, Dr. Idzior and Dr. Beaumont and her previous family doctor at Trepassey, Dr. Tom McGarry. Resting at Our Lady of Fatima Funeral Home, St. Shotts, Monday, July 1st from 7:30-9:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Church in St. Shotts. Interment to follow at the St. Shotts Cemetery.
