MELDRUM, MARJORIE L. – 79, of Parrsboro passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Florence (Henwood) Pettigrew. She was a retired nursing assistant having worked at the Springhill Hospital and Hyland Homes for many years. She is survived by daughter, Wanda Smith (Gordon), Dartmouth; son, Kevin (April), Parrsboro; sister, Roberta Willigar, Parrsboro; brother-in-law, Norby Meldrum, Halfway River; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Nathan, Max, Mackinley, Madison. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurie Meldrum in 1971; sisters, Reta, Eudora; brothers, Charles, Henry, Joe and Wylie. She will also be greatly missed by her faithful canine companions, Precious, Zoe and Lucky. Visitation 12 - 2 p.m. on Tuesday [July 2, 2013] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral will follow at 2 p.m., Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating. Burial in the Parrsboro United Cemetery.
