Peacefully, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, of Edith K. Anderson of Charlottetown, age 89 years. Daughter of the late Lloyd and Abiona Anderson of St. Peter’s Bay, and sister of the late Jack Anderson of Hamilton, Ontario. She leaves to remember her life: sister, Jean (Anderson) Burch, and brother, Roy Anderson; Carol (Burch) and Len Lang, Randi (Lang) and Lee Rosky and Joe Rosky, Cindy (Lang) and Leigh Read, Lewis, Sam and Sadie Read; Sandra (Burch) and Rick Hoenecke, Amy Hoenecke, Joey (Hoenecke) and Pat Porter; Randy and Gay Burch; Duncan and Sue Burch, and Kyle Burch; Roger and Judy Taggart, Ryan and Andrew Taggart; extended family and special friends. She is remembered by her co-workers at Scotiabank (1943-1982), friends from Zonta and from Trinity United Church. An ardent supporter of all things beneficial to the Island, Edith was also a follower of both provincial and federal politics and could hold her own in political discussions. Throughout her life, she travelled to many wonderful places in Canada and abroad. Edith revelled in the stories and activities of her family and could be counted on to remember them and to be the family historian. The family would like to thank those who cared for Edith/Auntie Dee at Smith Lodge, Andrews of Stratford, Prince Edward Home and Unit 3 at QEH. Resting at the MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the service will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in Midgell Cemetery.
