NEW GLASGOW – Carolyn Elizabeth “Birdie” Ollerton, age 91, of the Glen Haven Manor, and formerly of Victoria Ave., New Glasgow, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Manor.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Jessie (Langille) Stewart.
Nanny worked in the business office at Goodman’s, V8 Motors and C.B. Hoare. Nanny and Grandpa enjoyed travelling and loved their trips abroad. After her retirement, Nanny enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting friends, she liked to bake and was an avid reader. While in the manor, she would spend her afternoons enjoying a coffee while playing cards with her son Bob.
She is survived by grandchildren: Amber Leigh (Daniel) VanKuren, Florida; Robbie (Chrissy), Fort McMurray, Alberta; great-grandchildren: Brittany, Brandon, River, Cameron, Reef, Emma and Ocean; brother: Victor (Bonnie), Ottawa, Ont.
She was predeceased by her husband, John G. “Jack” Ollerton, son, Robert “Bob” Ollerton; sisters: Midge Ackles; June Nicholas; Joyce Fraser; brother, Roy “Sparky” Stewart.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
