J. 'Elsie' MacDonald, 79, of Kentville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 12, 2013 at home.
Born in Souris, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Elizabeth 'Bessie' (Cheverie) MacDonald. She had retired from the Halifax Housing Authority, retiring to Kentville, where she has lived for the past 15 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Thurber, Kentville; Helen MacCoy (Dave), Sydney, Cape Breton; two sisters, Ruth Brown, Enfield; Sheila (Mike) Guay, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; two brothers, Bill (MaryLou), Prince Edward Island; Syl, Souris, P.E.I.; five grandchildren, Gordon, Jessica, Samantha, Jonathan and Jodi; a great-granddaughter, Kahlin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Stewart; her companion, Noble Hugh Lausanne; a daughter, Rose Marie Tait; two granddaughters, Sara Tait and Nicole 'Nikki' Tait.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, Rev. Murray Shaw officiating. Cremation will follow.
Donations in memory may be made to a palliative care program of your choice.
