It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" Ferguson of Scarborough, ON, formerly of Amherst. Jackie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash.
Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late George and Corinne (Leaver) MacDonald.
A summer resident of Sandy Cove, Port Howe, NS, she is fondly remembered barefoot on the beach, her happiest times spent at her cottage. She loved playing bingo with her friends, and kept her wonderful sense of humor right up to the end. Above all, she loved her husband Jack and her family.
She will be fondly remembered by her husband William "Jack" of Scarborough; daughters, Laurie (Jim), Judy (Jim), and Barbie (Gerry), all of Ontario; granddaughters, Teri, Lyndsay, Jaime, Taylor, Chandler, and Cassidy and the much awaited grandson Connor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place and her ashes have been returned to Scarborough, ON. All are invited to her cottage in Sandy Cove on Monday, July 15, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm to share memories with the family.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre and the North Cumbeland Memorial Hospital for their caring compassion and support during their difficult time.
