Lieu de décès : Kamloops, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 13 juillet 2013

Len Fowles passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by loving family, on July 13, 2013.

Len is survived by wife Judy, sons Dave (Gail), Chris, and Jonathon (Melissa) Fowles, and daughter Karen (Gary) Burgoyne. He is survived by his sister Ethel Busch of Kamloops. He will be dearly missed by all of his family including his grandchildren Zach, Vicki, Isabella and Emerson and all of the numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Len was born in Kamloops July 29, 1932 and was one of five children of Jack and Olive Fowles. Alongside sisters Ethel and Doris, he grew up playing basketball and baseball with his brothers Jack and George. Len was a valuable player on the Kamloops Okonots baseball team and had a life-long passion for the sport that carried through to his beloved 'Toronto Blue Jays' and to his playing and coaching with the local senior's team, the 'Coffin Dodgers', in his later years. Len was a respected leader in the school district as an administrator and was an active contributor with the BC Principles Association. He truly enjoyed his fellowship with the Gyro Club, sharing his spirit and service. It is this generosity of spirit that characterized his relationships with family, friends, community and profession.

Len loved his time with family and friends, usually amongst the backdrop of a round of golf, or a BBQ in the neighborhood, in between world travels with Judy and winters in Palm Desert.

A Memorial and Celebration of his life will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at the Columbo Lodge, 814 Lorne Street, with Reverend Harry Bicknell officiating. A reception will directly follow the service.

The family would like to thank and honour the health care professionals at Royal Inland Hospital for their wonderful and heartfelt care, by asking that donations be made in lieu of flowers to R.I.H Foundation, Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, B.C., V2C 2T1, in memory of Len.

Arrangements for the service are being entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, 250-374-1454.
