TRENTON – Jennie “Jane” Cormier, age 95, of Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, formerly of Diamond St., Trenton, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Ivey’s Terrace.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Benoit) DeGruchy.
She was a faithful member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton, and a devoted mother to her six sons.
She is survived by sons: James (Paulette), Saltsprings; Douglas (Debbie), Abercrombie; David (Ann), Westville; Wayne (Gloria), Little Harbour; Stephen (Janet), Little Harbour; daughter-in-law, Pookie Cormier, Trenton; 22 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Marge Fraser.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert; son, Bernie; brothers, Tom and John; sisters: Mary, Annie and Alice.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to Christ the King Cemetery or a charity of choice.
