1931-2008 At the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, August 14, 2008, with his beloved wife and family by his side, of Joseph Alphonse Gaudet of 42670 Western Road, Tignish, age 77 years. Beloved husband and companion of Jeannette Marie (nee Perry) Gaudet. Born in Tignish on July 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Urbain and Catherine (nee LeClair) Gaudet. He was a member of the Tignish branch of the Royal Canadian Legion having served with the RCAF (Navy) during the Korean War. Dear brother to Edward (Marie) of Prescott, Ontario, Peter (late) Mae of Tignish; Charles (Eva) of Leoville, Reta (Hector) McInnis of Tignish, Irene (Late Aubin) Gallant of Tignish. Brother-in-law to Henry and Bea Perry of Tignish, Louise (late Nelson) Gaudet of Barrie, Ontario, Yvonne and Eric LeClair of North Rustico, Stella MacPherson of Charlottetown. He was predeceased by brothers J. Henri and Albert. He was also predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Dora and Roy Gallant. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Monday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund or to St. Simon and St. Jude restoration organ fund would be gratefully appreciated.
