Allen Dan Hall, age 72 of Neville Street, Reserve Mines, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Jonquiere, Que., he was the son of the late Edmond and Ida (Patoine) Hall.
Allen was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. He was employed with Scotsburn Diary for 34 years, retiring in 2005. Allen was a former member of St. Joseph’s Men’s Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking (had his own little shop) and spending time with his grandson. Allen had a great sense of humour and was a very compassionate man.
He is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie, P.E.I., son, Edmond Hall (Roxanne), Reserve Mines, one brother, Eddy Hall, Cape Cod, Boston, one sister, Francine Hall, Sydney and his grandson, ‘Poppy’s Boy’, Coldon Hall.
Allen was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Fagan) Hall.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay.
The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Dan Boudreau is Tuesday, 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church followed by interment in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
As an expression of sympathy for Allen, memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
