Yvonne Dearing, 85, of Maxie Street, Glace Bay, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Birch Grove, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Gilday) LeCointe
Yvonne was a member of Holy Cross Church. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime. She was a very outgoing and active lady. She belonged to the ladies auxiliary and dart club of the RCL Branch 12, Sydney. Yvonne was also a member of the ladies auxiliary at the Glace Bay Hospital. Some of her hobbies included, baking, knitting, dancing and doing crossword puzzles.
Yvonne was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by four daughters, Anna Lee Cole (Bob), Debi Ryan, Cathy Boone (Cecil) all in Glace Bay, Norma Slade (Peter), Reserve Mines; five sons, Ronnie (Pam), David (Lynn), Brian (Brenda), all in Ontario, Kevin (Nancy), Dominion, Bruce (Jan), Ontario; numerous grand and great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Theresa LeCointe and Sue MacKinnon.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Ray Dearing, two sons, Jimmie, Ray Jr., one brother, Abbie and one sister, Molly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Norman MacPhee is Thursday, 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church followed by a reception in the church hall. After the reception interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
