DAYE, JEANETTA - It is with heavy hearts, the family of Jeanetta B. Daye (nee Hetherington) announce her passing on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. Born on September 28, 1935 in Cumberland Bay, NB, she was the youngest of the late Neal Hetherington and Bessie (Jenkins). Jeanetta is survived by her loving husband of 59 years , Clayton of Quispamsis, and three children, Jocelyn of Rothesay, Danny (Judy) of Fredericton and Cathy Mersereau (Randy) of Central Blissville; four grandchildren Shelley, Scott, Layla and Danen as well as four great-grandchildren, Brandi, Jakob, Linkin, and Meadow. Also surviving is a sister, Flora DeWitt (Charles), Fredericton and a brother Garfield, Chilliwick, BC. She was predeceased by siblings Mary Huestis, Calvin, Horace, Myrtle Thorne, Vena Small and Joyce Thompson. Jeanetta was a licensed hairdresser in her early years and throughout her married life, she was a creative and talented homemaker. Jeanetta and Clayton had a wonderful and full life together. With many close friends they shared common interests in hockey, snowmobiling, boating, travels, and good times on Kedron and Grand Lakes. She was a caring wife and mother, disciplined and decisive in her life values, accepting her illness with grace and courage. She will be sorely missed by all.
In lieu of visitation and a funeral, there will be a celebration of life on Friday, July 26th, 2013 at 7 PM at the Bill McGuire Centre, Rothesay.
