Carole Trueman
TRUEMAN, Carole Ann – The death of Carole Trueman, 76, Truro, Nova Scotia, formerly of Saint John, New Brunswick, wife of Donald E. Trueman, occurred on Thursday evening, July 25, 2013, at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born September 21, 1936, in Moncton, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Norma (Phalen) Butland. Carole graduated from Moncton High School in 1954 and worked for T. Eaton Company until her marriage to Don in 1958. Carole supported Don is his career with New Brunswick Telephone Company, making many moves throughout New Brunswick over a 30+ year span, with the last move being to Saint John, New Brunswick, where they enjoyed retirement together until Carole’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s prompted a move to Nova Scotia to be closer to family. Carole’s passion and focus for more than 50 years were her home, her husband, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Carole is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters, Vicki Trueman, Hudson, Quebec; Karen (Greg) Wilkins, Truro; Catherine (Jack) Thompson, Kenner, Louisiana; son, John Trueman, Lethbridge, Alberta; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; very special aunt, Pauline Nelson, Monton, New Brunswick, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Carole’s family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2013. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be appreciated by the family.
