May 5th, 1959 - July 26th, 2013. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences, coronary care unit, St. John’s, NL. He was in the presence of his brother Basil Mercer, Aunt Irene, friend Gerry and the compassionate staff. Edward was predeceased by his mother Mary Mercer, stepfather Patrick Wiseman, grandparents Thomas Mercer and Suzanne Mercer(Singleton), Tilton, Spaniards Bay and uncle Tom Mercer. Leaving to mourn his brother Basil, aunts Ann Cummings, Bell Island,(John Predeceased), Loretta McKay(Bill), Ontario, Rita Noseworthy(Wince), Pouch Cove, Irene Duke, St. John’s(Patrick Predeceased), Winnie Gosse(Donald),Bell Island, Kathleen Lahey(Jerome), Bell Island, Rosarie Cummings, Bell Island(Tom Predeceased),uncle; Mike Mercer, Bell Island and many cousins and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home Sunday and Monday from 12-9p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at 2.00 p.m. from St. Michael Church, Bell Island. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
