Norma Patriquin

CAPE JOHN – Norma H. Patriquin, 83, of Cape John, Pictou County, passed away peacefully at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche on July 31, 2013.
Norma was born August 26, 1929, in the house on Cape John where she later married and lived most of her life, until the time of her passing.
She was a daughter of the late Jerald Shaw and the late Vera (Zinck) and step-father, Gordon MacDonald.
Norma was the wife of the late Austin Patriquin. She worked many years at the Caribou Fish Factory, and loved to garden and read. She also enjoyed the company of her cat, Tim.
Norma is survived by sons, Gerald (Marlene) Shaw, and their daughters, Shannon and Ginnie; Wayne (Donna) Patriquin, and their sons, Charles and Kyle; daughters, Brenda Taylor; Jo-Ann (Bobby Sellers) Cullen, and her daughter, Danielle; Barb (Gene) Cowling, and their daughter, Erin; Sharleen (Reg) Grant, and their sons, Jon and Tyler; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Marge Baillie; brothers, Rollie (Judy) MacDonald, Leonard (Judy) MacDonald, and Greg (Barb) MacDonald.
Besides her husband, Norma was predeceased by brother, Dave Shaw; sister-in-law, Lottie Shaw; brother-in-law, Kenneth Baillie; sons-in-law, Doug Cullen, Harvey Taylor; and granddaughter, Michelle “Sissy” Cullen.
Family flowers only. Donations in Norma's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John's Anglican Church, River John.
No visitation by request. Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 3rd, at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Cemetery, River John, with Rev. Bill Cook officiating. A reception will follow at St. John’s Anglican Church Hall.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McLaren Funeral Service, Pictou.
