Lois Mary MacLeod, age 81, of Sackville, N.B.,formerly of Kilmuir, P.E.I., passed away on the early morning of Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on November 1, 1931, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late August and Annie (Fraser) Theirman. Lois was an academic who was involved in many community organizations in her lifetime. She enjoyed writing books of biography and local history, both in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Lois came to P.E.I. on many occasions, visiting friends and relatives in the Montague and Kilmuir area.
She is survived by her nephews, Barry, Brian and Bob Hoffos and her niece, Donna Hoffos. Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her sisters, Viola Bell and Sylvia Hoffos.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 2 p.m., at the Lower Montague Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Thompson officiating.
