RICHARD, OSCAR - 1928-2013 - SHEDIAC, NB - Oscar Richard, 85, of Villa Providence, formerly of Cap-Lumière, passed away at Villa Providence on Friday, August 2, 2013. Born in Cap-Lumière, NB, he was the son of the late Isai and late Marie (Légère) Richard. Before retiring, he was employed as a fisherman. Oscar will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Mélida (Boucher) Richard of Bouctouche; two daughters, Anne-Marie Savoie (late Bernard) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent and Hélène Maillet (Roger) of Bouctouche; one son, Gerard Richard (Ginette) of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Lisa, Isabelle, Rachelle, Jessica and Gabriel; and three great-grandchildren, Mia, Paxton and Damien. Oscar is also survived by two sisters, Yvette LeBlanc (late Paul) of Rexton and Laurette Eagle (Bertin) of Saint-Louis-de-Kent; and several nieces and nephews. Oscar was predeceased by one son, Donald Richard; one brother, Neri; and three sisters, Claudia, Rita and Jeannette.
Resting at Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Richibucto-Village on Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm, Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto-Village. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donation's in Oscar's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
