Richards, James Wilson – 68, of Masstown
James Wilson Richards was born on August 12th, 1944 to Wilson and Nellie (Tattrie) Richards. Jim finally retired permanently on August 6th 2013. He leaves behind his long-time companion, Evangeline Yorke, Masstown; daughter, Kimberley Richards (Les), New Glasgow, NS; grandson, Scott Gorman (Courtnay), Sackville, NB; granddaughter, Kaili Gorman (Will), Brownfield, Alta.; great-grandchildren, James and Charlotte Johnson; brothers, Courtney (Paulette) Richards, Hilden, NS, Sterling (Debbie) Richards, Kemptown, NS; sisters, Dorothy (Gordon) Richards, Portapique, NS, Pearl (Gary) Slack, Folly Mtn, NS, Crystal (Garry) Richards, Red Deer, Alta; along with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins who will miss him greatly. Jim was predeceased by both parents, his daughter Susan and sister Ruth Richards. Jim was a Millwright/Welder and a member of the local 1178 Millwright Union for forty-one years. He was an entrepreneur, owned and operated Jim Richards Boom Truck Services. You might remember him better as “loose wheels Richards” if you came to play on Sunday evening at the Onslow Racetrack. He was a current member of the South Colchester ATV club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and, if not found driving one of his big boy toys, could be found tooling around on his 4-wheeler looking for the next great hunting/fishing spot. He loved to hear a good tale and could spin a yarn as long as your arm. Jim was well known for his sarcastic wit, ironic sense of humor and unique laugh. He will be greatly missed by many. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, August 10 from 11:00 am – 12 noon in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment to follow in Wentworth United Baptist Church Cemetery. Family flowers only.
