Mark Boucher
BOUCHER, MARK CHRISTOPHER - November 26, 1968 - July 11, 2013 - It is with profound shock and sadness to the family and friends of Mark Boucher (late of Grand Prairie, AB and previously of Moncton, NB) to announce his sudden passing after a lengthy battle with mental illness. Mark is survived by and lovingly remembered by his beloved family and friends: wife, Shelley; sons, Palmer Boucher, Ryan Fisher and Noah Boucher of Grand Prairie; parents, Marilyn and Clarence Boucher of Moncton, NB; parents-in-law, Joan and Hugh MacAulay of Trenton, NS; brother, Scott (Celeste); nieces, Mariel and Lauren of Regina; sister-in-law, Gillian MacAulay of Grande Prairie; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and good friends from coast to coast. Nothing mattered more to Mark than his family and friends and helping where he could, whether it was helping a friend move or filleting a big pike. Mark could talk and talk and talk and make friends with anyone from any walk of life. Title and status did not matter to him; he would always say that everyone put one pant leg on at a time. Everyone was always welcome at the Bouchers', be it kids or someone dropping by to say hi and have a drink. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends, hosting BBQs, fish fries, telling stories, teasing, computers, photography and making videos; he did it all well. If Mark was involved there was a good time to be had by all. Mark had a style that was uniquely Mark. It could be camouflage, Hawaiian, or vintage; it all worked for him. Mark's true calling was coaching hockey and he could always be counted on to coach the boys in hockey. He could motivate the kids to play great hockey and no matter the skill each kid got equal playing time. Mark will be sadly missed and forever loved by everyone that was blessed to have known him.
A Celebration of Mark's Life will be held on Saturday, August 17 at Hotel Moncton, 2779 Mountain Road (Magnetic Hill) from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations for Mark's boys can be made to the Fishy-Bou trust fund at any Scotiabank branch. Arrangements entrusted to Oliver's Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Grande Prairie, AB.
