John William Henry Hayward
HAYWARD, John William Henry – 71, Truro, passed away suddenly, as a result of heart complications, on Friday morning, August 9, 2013, at home. Born February 13, 1942, in Woodside, Halifax County, he was a son of the late John and Kathline (Roscoe) Hayward. John dedicated his working career as a meat cutter at Sobeys locations throughout Nova Scotia. A true family man, it was the time spent with family and friends that brought him the greatest joy. John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bona (Smith); children, Jeannie Hopkins, John Hayward (Amy Burke), Salmon River; Fraser Hayward (Stephanie Davidson), Truro; sister, Phyllis (Edward) Morash, Dartmouth; father-in-law, Fraser Smith, Nictaux; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Swinemar, Jackie Arsenault; mother-in-law, Bona Smith. Honouring John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in his memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association are welcomed.
