COLLINS, ELINOR - Elinor K. Collins of Saint John passed away peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on July 29, 2013. Elinor was born in Saint John on February 11, 1918 to the late Joseph Collins and Grace (Heenan) Collins. Elinor graduated from St. Vincent's High School and worked for the federal government for many years. She was a life-long resident of Saint John and a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Elinor is survived by several cousins and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family; besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Joe and Jimmy; and sisters, Grace and Nora.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By Elinor's request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Monday, August 19 at 12:10 pm followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
