Marion Annie (Madge) (nee O'Brien) Vaniderstine

77, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in 1931 in Windsor Forks, Hants Co., she was the daughter of the late George B. and Elizabeth (Urquhart) O’Brien. She was a graduate of Provincial Normal College, Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing, University of Alberta, Acadia University and Dalhousie University. Her lifetime career was that of a teacher. She was a wonderful, kind and very giving person and she will be sadly missed. Being a very prepared person, Madge penned most of her own obituary. Madge is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Smiley, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; three sisters and four brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, in Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Chapel. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre followed by private burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Madge may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada, 151 Frederick St., Suite 400, Kitchener, Ont., N2H 2M2, and would be appreciated. Special thanks are extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of Colchester Regional Hospital for all their loving care.
